Haute Living reports:

Haute 100 Update: Al Malnik gives $1,000,000 to Make-A-Wish at Intercontinental Gala

At Saturday’s 18th Annual Make-A-Wish Gala, Lifetime Benefactors Al and Nancy Malnik presented a record-breaking $1,000,000 check to the charity to establish the Malnik Family Wish Fund. The monies will grant wishes “in perpetuity” to children with life-threatening diseases. Al’s son Shareef, served as the Gala’s host for the eighth consecutive year while girlfriend and Burn Notice actress Gabrielle Anwar emceed the live auction to great effect. Highlights of the lavish Bollywood-themed gala included a very fun pre-recorded video of Anwar and Malnik attempting ballet at the Miami City Ballet and a flash mob in which guests pulled peach-colored sashes from their seats and waived them in unison to “Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)” from Slumdog Millionaire.

Notable names in attendance included Christian Slater with girlfriend Brittany Lopez, Kardashian Kharacter Jonathan Cheban, “Real Housewives” Lisa Hochstein and über-philanthropists Sanford Ziff and Lady Beatrice Clancy. Afterwards, the younger set joined new arrivals at the Intercontinental Make-A-Wish Nightclub, which was hosted by Michael Capponi and featured a crazy runway show by Traver Rains. All summed, the event raised $1.6 million dollars from generous donors.

Trigger, a Miami Beach Premiere

without comments

Hi Friends,

I would like to invite you to the Short Film Premiere of Trigger at the Colony Theater on Lincoln Road on Wednesday November 23rd 2011.

Trigger, written, produced, and directed by a local friend of mine, Matt Sinnreich, is a 30-minute Short Film that has been touted as an emotional and psychological rollercoaster about what it takes for one to actually pull “the trigger” and take another human’s life. Immediately captivating the audience, the film opens with a man holding a gun to a drug dealer’s head, and then regresses back through the gunman’s childhood, exposing the circumstances of how he ended up in the position, and ultimately, how fate has brought everything full-circle.
You can see the trailer here: www.triggermoviecharity.com

The red carpet starts at 7:30PM and is sponsored by both VeeV and Rockstar. The event will be open bar until midnight.

To see the trailer and to get tickets, go to: www.triggermoviecharity.com

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thank you,
Shareef Malnik
